designer note: The photo at the top of this page (selected just because I think it looks cool) was taken by our pal from Athens, GA, Daniel Peiken. He sees a lot of live music, often sharing his shots with me but rarely singling out anybody for praise. So when he mentioned being recently blown away by a band called Summerbirds In The Cellar, I went over to iTunes and picked up a few of their songs. The next day, back for a few more. Then the whole album, their remarkable 2005 debut called With The Hands Of The Hunter It All Becomes Dead. (It's also available at CD Baby.) The much-anticipated second record, Druids, will be out pretty soon from Slow January. Meanwhile, here are a few clips from With The Hands to accompany Daniel's photo:
1. Lonely Sleeping Giant
2. Ghosttown
3. An Honest Friend
4.
Behold The Wolf
