The Americana Conference 2006 included many stellar shows (and we'll feature clips from some of those in our upcoming issues). But the show I liked best was the Guitar Pull that was sponsored by SESAC, hosted by the ubiquitous and affable Tim Fink. SESAC has always been there for Americana artists, and pay out more royalties to them than either of their bigger counterparts. They also evidenced their keen understanding of the field in this choice of artist/writers: Jim Lauderdale, Dana Cooper, Kevin Welch, Hayes Carll, and Ray Wylie Hubbard. We include the show here in its entirety, and thank SESAC for a great event.
